An existing tower’s footing was in need of repair based on current conditions of exposed piles and deteriorated concrete. Because this project required boat access, Bjork Construction set barges into place as laydown areas. In order to obtain full access to the footings, a cofferdam was installed and all water was removed from around the footing. Doweling and rebar installation took place, and concrete was flown to the site and pumped in through the barge access. This project was under strict environmental restrictions and time frames. Bjork Construction worked along side the bio monitor and PG&E to ensure that safety and permit requirements were met. Crews worked 10 hour shifts in order maintain schedule.
